Two to four weeks is ideal, especially for end-of-month and weekend dates, which fill first. That said, we move clients on much shorter notice all the time - call 510-571-2080 and we will tell you honestly what is open.
How is the cost of my move calculated?
Every quote is built from the details of your move: the size of your home, the inventory, access at both addresses, the distance between them, and any services you add such as packing. You receive a detailed written quote before you book, so the scope and pricing are agreed in advance.
Do you handle apartments with stairs, elevators, or tight access?
Yes - walk-ups, elevator buildings, narrow Victorians, and hillside homes are everyday work for our crews across San Francisco and the Bay Area. Tell us about stairs, elevator reservations, and parking when you request your quote so we plan the right crew and equipment.
How long does a typical local move take?
Most local moves finish the same day. The exact timing depends on the size of your home, how much is being moved, access at each address, and the drive between them. Your written quote includes a time estimate based on those details.
Will the crew disassemble and reassemble my furniture?
Yes. Standard furniture - beds, tables, desks, and shelving - is disassembled, wrapped, and reassembled in your new home as part of the move. Specialty items are noted in your quote so the crew arrives prepared.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Finish packing and seal your boxes, set aside the items you are keeping with you (documents, medication, chargers), clear hallways, and reserve parking or the elevator if your building requires it. Your coordinator confirms everything the day before.
